Our food in the Lone Star State is so good you often end up very disappointed when you have to travel outside of Texas, but it does serve as a joyful reminder of just how good we have it.

Sure, we love our Tex-Mex, but the elite level of culinary expertise you can enjoy throughout the state easily showcases the best food of every continent, and our version of fusion food is unparalleled. Recently we learned the the best buffet in the beef state is not only vegetarian, but also Asian and features the best foods India has to offer.

Hu's Cooking in Houston is the best Chinese food in the whole state, and maybe the entire country according to Love Food. I will definitely check out a Chinese restaurant that does not offer a buffet, but normally I do not dine at Chinese eateries unless they offer a dim sum menu, but based on the options at Hu's, you will definitely get your money's worth.

Just the other day I was driving past Clem Mikeska's in Temple for lunch and a memory popped in my head about Wes's Burger Shack More, and the former business that used to have delicious pizza.

I remember going there for lunch just a few years ago and taking my entire hour to take advantage of that pizza buffet! The different variety of pizza stuck out to me. I even remember the game area!

A few weeks ago, we asked listeners on Facebook about restaurants they missed that aren't around anymore in Temple, Texas.

Blue Bell is the official ice cream of Texas, and my personal favorite. According to a new list of the 15 best brands of ice cream nationwide, Blue Bell was ranked in the middle.
