A Texas court recently ordered that KISD has to reimburse a woman for the cost of support services and enrolling her son in a private school.

Natalie McGrew moved to Fort Hood from Massachusetts in 2015 and butted heads with Killeen ISD after she says they failed to provide necessary individualized lesson plans for her autistic son.

The State of Texas recently ruled in her favor, and ordered that the district reimburse her for the cost of enrolling her son in a private school, as well as additional support services.

Reportedly, at the child's previous school, an Individual Education Plan was set up to assist him in the classroom.

KISD denied Mcgrew these services, unfortunately for them, that is unlawful.

"If you come to a new state with an IEP by law they have to follow that IEP. They can't take that away.” McGrew said.
