Heads Up Texas, Hurricane Rafael Is Now Coming
Corpus Christi, Texas is looking like it could be part of the direct path of Hurricane Rafael later into this weekend as it is currently a level 3 hurricane and just about to make landfall on the largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba. Hurricane Rafael's center is expected to cross over Cuba to the west of Havana, but that still leaves plenty of island to hit with an anticipated 9 to 14 feet tidal surge.

Hurricane Rafael is now a level 3 hurricane just before making its first major landfall.
As Hurricane Rafael passes over Cuba, it is difficult to know that type of impact it will have as the country already is very downtrodden from previous storms, power outage issues, and a depressed economy. It really does project to just be more insult to what is beginning to feel like nonstop injuries.
After Cuba, What should we expect next from Hurricane Rafael?
Apparently the high pressure and beautiful weather that we are currently enjoying in Texas will actually work against the Lone Star State with the current path projections for Hurricane Rafael.

Due to the high pressure system that is in place, Hurricane Rafael is not expected to be able to turn north or east, so it is expected to travel straight west after passing over Cuba, and be heading straight towards the south Texas coast.
