What happens in these cases in which it takes so long for a criminal to get locked up especially, after committing a heinous crime? Is it that authorities want the criminal to serve time before they are tried? (Rhetorical) These are the questions on my mind when I read about this case out of Houston, Texas.

After eight years, a Texas man was finally sentenced to life in prison after killing a United States postal worker back in 2013.

Monday, James Wayne Ham of Houston pleaded guilty to the 2013 murder of an unnamed postal worker.
.

According to the Fresno Bee, the postal worker was on the phone with her son when she was shot four times by Ham.

Court records state:

“The son began shouting into the telephone trying to communicate with his mother when he heard an unintelligible male’s voice over the telephone,” officials say. “The son then heard his mother say ‘Please don’t kill me, please don’t kill me.’”

The records also state that a Jeep Cherokee four-door postal vehicle was engulfed in flames where the postal worker delivered mail, and was riddled with multiple bullet holes.

Allegedly, Ham assumed the mail carrier was withholding his mail and delivering it to his ex-wife instead.

Investigators say he decided to kill his estranged wife as well.

Court documents also show that a complaint was made from Ham to the mail carrier's supervisor about his mail, and it said that if she didn’t correct the problem he would "go over her head".

Weeks later, he reportedly loaded his rifle, took a bottle of lighter fluid and rifle shells near the carrier's route, and after she delivered his mail, shot her four times according to court records.

Ham also wrote a statement admitting to authorities what he had done.

My question is, what ever happened to his wife. Did he kill her?

Welp...it doesn't matter now seeing as though he’s going to jail for life.

Texas' Top 15 Pro Athletes from the Past 25 Years in No Particular Order

Texas' Top 15 Pro Athletes from the Past 25 Years in No Particular Order

These are, in my opinion, the Top 15 Professional athletes from the past 25 years.

Of course, we'll start with the Dallas Cowboys (of course we will) and go from there.

The NFL's most prized franchise won 3 World Championships in the 1990s in 1992, 1993, and 1995.

Those teams saw numerous Hall Of Fame coaches and players from Jimmy Johnson, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin.

You can't forget about the dynasty the San Antonio Spurs had that started in the late 90s and came into the 200s as an NBA Powerhouse winning 5 NBA Championships led by players such as David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker, and in their later years Kawhi Leonard.

What about that 2011 Dallas Mavericks team that gave Dallas their first-ever NBA Championship under the leadership of Dirk Nowitski, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry and company?

We definitely can't deny new superstar Luka Doncic and the Mavericks of today inching closer and closer to becoming a dominant West Coast Team.

I would be foolish not to mention those Houston Rockets teams that repeated as NBA Champions in the mid-90s, (I did say past 25 years right?) and the James Harden led team, who along with Chris Paul boosted the Rockets to the playoffs year after year ultimately leading them to the Western Conference Finals.

Here are my top 15..
