With the growth we've experienced here in Texas, many people are coming to visit or even put down roots. Some people drive to wherever they need to go, but we get our fair share of air traffic in the Lone Star State too.

Personally, being the son of a pilot, I know all too well about airplanes and airports. You could even say I grew up in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. I know how to get through things relatively quickly and basically know to get there early and not last minute, because otherwise you will miss your flight.

However, there is always something with air travel that can trip us up no matter how thorough our game plan. Whether it be long lines in security, technology messing up, or possibly another traveler just annoying you. So it's always a good reminder to remember to be patient in an airport, even if others aren't.

So are Texas airports busy and sometimes rowdy?

As it turns out, one airport that frequent travelers to Texas might be familiar with has been making noise, but in the best way possible. Austin–Bergstrom International Airport has earned many votes, or should we say hearts, in the eyes of travelers.

According to TravelAwaits, readers voted the airport as the second most loved in the nation! Coming in first was Denver International Airport. AUS earned high marks not only for its selection of food, but also for the music playing throughout the building.

Which, in the few times I've visited I haven't heard, mainly because I'm listening to my own music.

So what do we do with this new info?

It's up to us to possibly make it number one! So here's a fun fact to help with getting through security. You can check the airport wait time before you even head out! Pretty neat I think.

Austin's reputation outside of Texas has been growing increasingly positive in recent years (though natives have mixed feelings about the state capitol), so this is definitely a sign that people enjoy their time here. I know I have so far.
