Massive Retailer In Texas Now Closing Over 700 Hundred Locations
Texas is bracing for the impact of another massive retailer closing a bunch of locations with 700 stores scheduled to be vacated by the middle of 2025. No surprise, but the Lone Star State is among the nation's leaders with more than 250 locations, and once again looks to be potentially highly impacted by the closures.

Massive Retailer In Texas Now Closing Over 700 Hundred Locations
Advance Auto Parts recently announced after the sale of their wholesale operations for automotive parts Worldpac to the private equity investment group Carlyle, they will also now be closing over 500 underproducing corporately owned locations, and another 200 independently owned stores.
How many Advance Auto Parts stores will be closing in Texas?
According to the Advance Auto Parts website, Texas currently has the fifth most locations of all states with just over 250 of the more than 4,300 stores, but no list of the actual closures are included according to this Fortune article. With the closing of over 700 stores, there is a relatively good chance that a few Texas locations could be poised for closure, especially in a smaller towns like Temple that have more than one store.
Why are so many retailers closing stores across the country?
As quickly as the world feels like it has been spinning over the last handful of years, it appears people's need for auto parts to repair their vehicles has changed due to purchasing new cars, and longer warranties being offered even with pre-owned vehicles.
