Texas Targets And Walmarts Now Rejecting Cash Money
Texas Christmas shopping is in full swing, but you may find that some of the largest retailers in the Lone Star State have implemented new policies regarding purchases made in cash.

Walmart already has several policies regarding how they will allow customers to conduct business in their stores, and always reserve the right to decline service to anyone. Now, you can add refusing cash to their list of offenses.
Texas Targets And Walmarts Now Rejecting Cash Money
Apparently mutilated money (those bills with rips, holes, or missing corners etc.) has become a large problem for not only retailers, but also the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. So, the BEP has asked retailers to curb their acceptance of flawed cash in a joint effort with the Secret Service and Advanced Counterfeit Deterrence.

Besides passing on mutilated money, many retailers will no longer accept bills over $100. Yes, they have not printed bills larger than $100 since 1969, but they are still in rotation.
How will you be able to unload mutilated bills moving forward?
You can send the mutilated bills to the BEP, and they will determine what bills can be replaced after inspecting them for potential fraud. They will add up all the money, and send you a check for what they are willing to replace.

I will miss the days of convincing snack machines to take my raggedy singles, and just because your store won't take the mangled cash, doesn't mean the kettle bell ringers won't.
