Today kicked off the annual Texas Department of Transportation 'Click It or Ticket' Campaign.

According to KXTW, officers will be looking to ensure that everyone is appropriately wearing a seatbelt and that children are buckled in through the Thanksgiving holiday.

State troopers, police officers, and sheriff deputies usually begin the campaign over the Memorial Day holiday, but with COVID-19, it was postponed. The 'Click It or Ticket' initiative has pushed the zero-tolerance policy for TX residents.

If you are caught operating a vehicle without properly wearing a seatbelt, you can face a fine of up to $200.

Please be safe and wear a seat belt; it might save your life.
