The Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library book sale is officially back up and running!

Who doesn't love a good book?

Due to the pandemic the library book sale was shut down for a year but with the help of so many local residents and their donations things are off to a good start. According to KWTX, tens of thousands of books were donated within the year time frame which puts the sale in a good place.

The Friends of the Waco-McLennan County Library book sale is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the library. This fundraiser has helped establish extended services outside of the walls of the library with the pop up library van, it has helped provide books for the summer reading club and new circular desk for staff to better assist and serve the public.

In the past the sale has been held at the Waco Convention Center, but it’s now held at the BASE at the Extraco Events Center off Bosque Blvd. The new location will provide more space for shoppers to browse the extensive book collections.

The sale kicks off today and will end Sunday. This event is free to public Friday thru Sunday and $10 on Thursday.

HOURS

Thursday-Friday: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Saturday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.

The sale is the perfect way to find new books and to cultivate children's interest in reading.  I encourage everyone to stop in and support.
