There's no shortage of awesome wing joints in Killeen, Texas, but if you want to go off the beaten path of chain places and get a adventurous, there are eight in particular that absolutely will not disappoint.
A Quick Guide to the Best Wings in Killeen, Texas
It doesn’t matter if we were talking fried hard, extra wet , dry rub, all flats, or all drums when we're talking wings.
Wings in Killeen are taken very seriously, so here are some of my favorite local chicken connoisseurs. If you live in Central Texas and you haven’t tried the places I am about to mention, you truly have never had great wings!
By The Way, I'm Not Ranking the Quality Here
These fantastic Killeen wing joints are not ranked in any specific order. I just asked the people of Killeen their opinion on some of the best wings in Killeen, then included their responses along with some personal favorites. It seems like every day there’s a new restaurant opening here in Central Texas, so there's always a new opportunity for someone to make the list.
Peezy's Kitchen - They Call Her the Wing Lady
Let’s start off with a young lady who wings are so delicious that she is known as "the wing lady”.
Stefane Phillips, the owner of Peezy's Kitchen, has been blessing Central Texas with wings for years. She may seem familiar because she has featured before in an article I wrote about female caterers in Central Texas.
Stefane takes pride in servicing the city, and customers looking for her famous spicy lemon pepper sings or wet lemon pepper wings are known to say "I need that Peezy fix!". Stefane executes it perfectly every time.
Tillie Marie's - The Best of Both Worlds
Instead of a Coke and a smile, how about some wings and a daiquiri? That’s what you get when you go to Ms. Tillie Marie’s.
Tillie Marie might also be a familiar name because she was featured in the female chefs and caterers article as well. Tillie's establishment gives you that feeling of being home with your elders, soaking up great memories and great food.
People come all the way from Austin just to eat some at Tillie Marie’s wings. A frequent request that makes central Texas go crazy are the sweet Asian wings. You get a cool, refreshing daiquiri with flavorful wings. What more do you need?
Lucky's Trap Kitchen - Meet at the Trap, 'Cause It's Going Down!
If you want golden-crisp chicken wings with a pinch of Southern hospitality, you want Lucky's Trap Kitchen.
This young hustler understands service with a smile. When getting service from Lucky, it’s like sitting around the table with your family having a good time enjoying chicken wings and playing cards.
Lucky is all about making sure he gives you amazing food that taste great, but his food also makes you feel great.
BBQ Hub - Changing the Game
I like my wings BBW, or whatever Drake said.
The BBW wings are a new twist on barbecue chicken wings, with bacon actually wrapped around them. You can only get these wings at Antonio and Teneshia Clemons' establishment, Barbecue Hub.
When opening this restaurant, Clemons definitely understood the assignment. Bacon plus chicken equals a match made in heaven.
TB's Tastee Treats - The Jack of All Trades
Teira Bostick (TB) is another chef who I've highlighted before, and I'm happy to do it again. She's something of a celebrity chef here in Central Texas, and her food's been requested by several celebrities and well-known comedians who've passed through Killeen.
She's a chef, caterer, and even a baker - she can really do it all! That includes great wings.
The good people of Killeen love her famous honey lemon pepper wings. When people dive into these, absolutely nothing is left on the bone. They're just too delicious.
If I were to describe this young entrepreneur's wings, I'd use the same two words I'd use to describe her as a personality - famously irresistible!
Sports City Grill - Let Your Hair Down and Relax
After a hard day at work, all you want is a nice, cold glass of beer, sports on TV, and some finger-lickin' hot wings. Sports City Grill is where you need to be.
LA native and all around sweetheart Craig Sanders is the owner, and he makes you feel like family the minute you enter his establishment. Truth be told, Sports City is my go-to spot when I just want to unwind and get away for a moment.
When it comes to the wings, I recommend the barbecue flame, Southern style, or the eye of the tiger. All three are guaranteed to have you drooling.
Craig's wings are just like his customer service - perfection every time.
Gan Gan's Chicken Shack - The New Kid on the Block
Gan Gan's is a new chicken wing establishment in Central Texas, but I hear all through the city that they have some of the best fried chicken you could ever have in your life.
When I spoke to the owners, they made it very clear that if I was going to do an article about the best chicken wings in Central Texas, Gan Gan's deserves to be a part of it!
Gan Gan's says the best part about them is, they don’t give you wingettes. No, they are all about giving you the whole wing, Gan Gan's said don’t play with them because we didn’t come to play!
Their sign says "No one does it like Gan Gan," and I believe it.
Hangover Bar and Grill - It's Always a Vibe at Hangover
When we’re talking about great wings with great the vibes, you can’t have the conversation without mentioning one of Killleen's favorite hotspots - the Hangover Bar & Grill.
Owner Tonya Williams has made her place one of the most popular to be in Central Texas. You hear nothing but great things about not only Tonya's customer service, but also her food. People crave hangover wings morning, noon, and night.
There’s also talk of a secret menu that you can order from to get certain wings, but the mainstream wings that stay in rotation at Hangover Bar &Grill would have to be the spicy lemon pepper, the Asian swag, and the peach habanero.
You make sure to bring your appetite to Hangover, and Tonya will make sure to have the vibes and delicious wings.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple
A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.
This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).
So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.
Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
