I have only visited this Texas town once in my entire life, and it was quite literally entirely by accident one fall day in 2009. While traveling east on Interstate 20 and bound for Dallas, my alternate putz out, and I drove off the shoulder across the grass, and onto the outer road before finally coasting to a rest on the shoulder where I could safely use my old Blackberry to look up an automotive garage that also had a tow truck service.

NO, I did not rank this the worst town to live in the Lone Star State on my personal experience because I have not made that declaration at all. The conclusion was made based on surveyable data collected and weighted against what makes places to live desirable.

In fact, I will say my experience in this town was top notch, and consistent with Texas being the "Friendly State." Granted, I did not go on much of a walking tour as my broken down Ford Escort was being cared for by complete strangers, but my stop over in this West Texas town was quite honestly top notch.

When I was last in Big Spring 15 years ago, this was a 7-Eleven. All told, I was only in town for about 4 hours from the time my car died until leaving, so I only walked around a little bit and had a cheeseburger.

According to this Wallet Hub article, Big Spring is the worst town to live in Texas because of it ranks very poorly in education and health, quality of life, and safety. I say, even the worst place to live in Texas is still Texas, and you can bet your bottom dollar that easily beats a lot of towns, cities, and states across the country.
