Golf champion Tiger Woods was injured in a single-car crash in Los Angeles Tuesday according to multiple sources.

The LA County Sheriff's Office posted to Twitter shortly before 1:30 PM to report that Woods was involved in a rollover crash at the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes shortly before 7:12 AM.

Woods' vehicle reportedly suffered major damage, and emergency responders had to use the jaws of life to extract him from the car.

Wood's agent, Mark Steinberg, told Golf Digest that Woods sustained multiple leg injuries and was undergoing surgery.

Live footage from the scene of the crash showed Woods' vehicle lying on it's driver's side severe damage to the front end. Deployed air bags can be seen inside the car, which was surrounded by debris. It appeared that the vehicle had run through a welcome sign in the area.

As of early Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the crash had not been determined. Again, Woods' vehicle appears to have been the only one involved.

According to TMZ Sports, Woods was in town to host the Genesis Invitational Golf Tournament at Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades, and announced earlier this week that recent back surgery might keep him from participating in the Masters Tournament scheduled to begin April 1st in Augusta, Georgia.

CBS Sports reports that the recent procedure was Woods' fifth microdiscectomy surgery on his back.
