Waco ISD is implementing a new app that will help stop bullying.

Waco's school district has launched a new application geared to ending bullying. This new application will allow students to submit anonymous tips to report bullying, dangerous situations, potential activity and threats.

According to Stopbullying.gov, when adults respond quickly and consistently to bullying behavior they send the message that it is not acceptable. Research shows this can stop bullying behavior over time. Parents and school staff can prevent bullying by creating a safe school environment.

The StopIt application can be downloaded on any smart phone. Once the app is accessible users can anonymously submit an incident report consisting of an image, video or text message. Administrators will then be able to respond and help students.

All communication can remain anonymous but users can provide identifying information if they choose to do so.

Waco ISD wants students to feel safe enough to speak up and deal with bullying head on.

I think this new initiative is the perfect way to build trust with students and faculty. Many bullying issues will halt with the help of the new app .

Parents please encourage your children to download the app and use if needed.
