As you should know by now, many cities all across Texas have been in a water crisis because of the extreme winter storm that we were hit with.

Water updates have been issued to the surrounding area but has since been changed.

The boil water notice for Temple that was placed Friday has been lifted. Even though Temple residents no longer need to boil their water before consumption, I would still advise you to be cautious and examine your water before you consume it.

The city of Belton on the other hand is asking its residents to try to conserve water as much as possible. The city has moved into Stage 2 drought conditions in the attempt to reduce water consumption by 10%. They issue this notice because demand is too high right now and if it does not decrease then they could be looking at a boil water situation like Temple had.

To reduce consumption the city advises you to stop dripping your faucets, take quick showers, and reduce use during the peak times of 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Harker Heights has opened up a water filling station for those who are still without their own water supply.

The station in Harker Heights is at the VFW Harker Heights 201 VFW Drive.

They will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and people will have to bring their own containers.

Make sure you continue to stay up to date on the water situation in your city everyday and continue to be safe!
