There have always been great rivalries in the state of Texas: Baylor/Texas A&M, Dallas Cowboys/Philadelphia Eagles, and yes Texas/Oklahoma. But we're not talking sports today.

Instead we're talking about something many of us have opinions on. We all need it to stay happy and full. Of course, we're talking about none other than food.

Specifically Whataburger Versus In-N-Out

Ever since In-N-Out moved to Texas, people's favorite burger has varied across the Lone Star State. So much so that Whataburger fell out of Texans' top 5 favorite fast food places. However, we've always held the belief that if it's made in Texas it's the best item ever made in the United States.

So when other individuals try an item from Texas and declare it the best they've ever had, it's not a big surprise. Until one opinion actually shocks most of the population. This might be one of those times.

One Californian's Take

Brandon Mercer, a writer for Chron, recently visited the Texas chain for the first time. Hailing from San Francisco, he had never tried Whataburger. So he decided to make his first visit. He compared it to In-N-Out, and the final verdict will put smiles on many Texan faces.

Through his various items bought and judged, he gave a point to either Whataburger or In-N-Out. His final score was 5-2 in favor of the Texas original, Whataburger. Which, after all the Whataburger slander we've heard sometimes, should make everyone in the state feel just great.

A Californian just said Whataburger was better than In-N-Out! This has to be a historic moment.
