With Valentine's just around the corner, love is in the air, and if you're a single in the Lone Star state, I think it's a little too late into cuffing season to find a Valentine, but if you're looking for an everlasting love, well, you'll have to travel outside the state to find a love worth waiting for.

Wallethub's experts combed through population data to determine the best cities for singles. WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across three key dimensions: 1) Economics, 2) Fun & Recreation and 3) Dating Opportunities.

Among the 182 cities, in the bottom nine Texas cities made the list.

  • Fort Worth
  • Irving
  • Amarillo
  • Plano
  • Arlington
  • Garland
  • Laredo
  • Grand Prairie

And on the bottom, coming in at 180th worst dating city is Brownsville.

Now, I've never been anywhere in Texas- but I can tell you as a single person, dating is kind of tough. The study didn't go in exact detail as to why Brownsville is the towards the bottom but not all hope is lost; Austin made it to the top ten coming in at number the number 7th most dating friendly city in the country.

You can read the entire list here and findings here; and if you're in El Paso like I am, I think you'll be amazed to see that the Borderland region actually makes it on the list!
