Someone recently asked me, "CC, you've been in radio so long--but what was the worst radio station that you ever worked for?" Ha! That's a story I've got to tell you!

I've worked at so many radio stations in my career that it's funny just how different every station is. Stations that were state of the art and stations that had old, outdated equipment. I worked at radio stations that were on the top of the tallest building in the city, to over looking the bluest of blue Pacific Ocean and stations that were in a house in a neighborhood.

Another one I worked at was right smack dab in the middle of the hood. (Imagine living next door to a radio station?)

I interviewed for a job once, but got lost on the way because it was on an old Texas lonely road.  I got there, to my surprise, about 5 or 6 p.m. I had passed it several times because I could not believe the station would be in an very old and dilapidated house. This station was in a house you would see in a horror movie, a house where a creepy old guy would take you to kill you, where you could see outside just by looking between the wood in the studio. A place where you had to step over an electric heater when you walked in the door. Where the living room was the reception area, and the dining area was the sales department (If you could call it that). One bedroom was where the radio studio was and the other bedroom was the production studio where nothing worked.

The guy interviewing me asked me, "So what do you think? Do you want to work here?" I honestly told him that the place gives me the creeps, plus it was getting dark and it really looked Scary. I told him, "I'm sorry Sir but I don't think I can work here" and I jumped in my car and drove. One thing I can tell you is that I have the best listeners on the planet here in the CTX, that's why I came back!
