Young Thug Released From Jail
Hours after issuing an impassioned plea for his freedom, Young Thug was released from DeKalb County Jail on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. The DeKalb County Sherrif's Office confirmed as much to XXL in a phone call.
As reported by NBC's local Atlanta affiliate 11 Alive, the Slime Language rapper was granted a conditional release after spending six days in jail after failing a court-ordered drug test. As a part of his conditional release, he must submit to random drug testing at least twice a week. He also must begin an outpatient program for addiction and drug abuse, as well as check in with his parole officer when he has events or has to travel.
While appearing before the court yesterday, Thugger offered Superior Court Judge Gregory Adams an apology for his behavior. “I’m sorry for disobeying the court. I’m sorry for disobeying my P.O. and being here again,” Young Thug told the judge. “I just want to go home with my family and do right.”
Thugger's current legal issues stem from a September 2017 arrest where police found drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop. While he is not yet completely in the clear and is still facing charges related to the incident, at least the rapper is now free to handle his affairs outside of a jail cell.
