Firefighters from around the area had to fight a fast-moving wildfire near Moody late Monday.

According to News 10, the 250-acre fire in the area of Box Ranch Road and Mockingbird Lane south of Moody has been contained and crews that remained at the scene to monitor for flare-ups have been recalled.

A total of at least fire departments responded to help take on and contain the fire.

The temperatures have been blistering hot, and these local heroes were working in 100 degree-plus temperatures to help put out the fire.

The fire has been contained, but officials are still on the scene monitoring the situation.

It has been some challenging times this year and thank goodness for our first responders out there on the front lines keeping all of us safe.
