A celebration that was exclusive only to Texas for many years has now been embraced by all of America as "Juneteenth", the day widely regarded as the day African American slaves were finally granted their "freedom", picks up momentum with many calling for it to become a federal holiday.

This weekend, there will be many celebrations of this momentous day, some new and some traditional. The Harker Heights Event Center has been celebrating Juneteenth for some time now and they are doing it again this weekend on Sunday June 21st beginning at 3:00 PM.

There will be lots of entertainment throughout the afternoon including local cheer teams, plenty of vendors and food and so much more. You can score FREE tickets to attend or get vendor information right now by visiting Eventbrite.

The Harker Heights Event Center will be following all Bell County Health Protocols which include temperature checks upon entry, 6-Feet social distancing and sanitation stations throughout the venue. Masks are strongly recommended.
