Austin Plant Will Manufacture New Apple Mac Pro
According to Apple, the latest generation of the Mac Pro will be manufactured in Austin, Texas.
Apple has been manufacturing the Mac Pro in Austin, TX since 2013, and is excited to boast that the new American-made components in the next Mac Pro, are 2.5x better than the last generation.
While everything will be assembled in ATX, many other states had a hand in creating some major components. These states include Arizona, Maine, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. The US has also granted a federal product exclusion to Apple, which has made it possible to obtain necessary components.
By 2023, Apple is expected to invest $350 billion into the US economy. Apple has jobs in each state, and supports 90,000 direct employees. The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, is looking to the future and has stated, "Every Apple product is designed and engineered in the US, and made up of parts from 36 states, supporting 450,000 jobs with US suppliers, and we’re going to continue growing here.”
Apple is planning to further develop the Austin facility, and also expand in other cities such as San Diego and Seattle.
