An absolutely horrible tragedy has occurred in San Antonio, Texas as a baby in their child seat was shot and killed while the vehicle their car seat was occupying was inside the parking lot at Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center.

According to the San Antonio Chief William McManus of the Police Department, the shooting happened around 1 PM yesterday afternoon, and it resulted in the death of an almost 11 month old Khamari Khols Lang, who was to celebrate their first birthday in November.

According to reports the victim was inside an SUV with an adult and two other small kids believed to be ages three and two when one of the young children was able to get ahold of a loaded rifle that was in the cargo or trunk area, and pulled the trigger discharging a single round.

As of now it is unknown if any charges will be filed, but some variation of negligence could definitely be considered. A witness nearby the shooting when it happened, and multiple police officials have commented that this type of tragedy is exactly why all guns that are around children need to be secured, always unloaded, and locked away for safety.
