Belton Fire Department Conducting Training Exercise on UMHB Campus Wednesday

A portion of the UMHB campus in Belton will be smoking swarming with emergency vehicles Wednesday as the city's fire department trains.

Campus administrators are allowing Belton FD to conduct exercises at the old apartment building at corner of Main St. and Martin Luther King. Public Information Officer Paul Romer with Belton FD advised local media that heavy smoke from a machine may be visible at times.

The apartments are set to be demolished to make room for a new performing arts center.
