Billy Don Urango – One of the Texas 10 Captured in Kansas
Texas has a list, like Santa, only they focus on the naughty. One of the members of the list has been found.
The Texas Department of Public Safety issued a statement saying that one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders had been captured in Kansas.
Billy Don Urango, 27, was picked up February 26th in Wichita, Kansas. He was wanted for parole violation and failure to register as a pervert. Why was he required to register? Because he was convicted in 2010 of aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact after preying upon an 11-year-old boy. DPS officials say he also has a history of exposing himself.
Good news for someone since the arrest came via a Crime Stoppers tip. That means someone will be getting a check for $5,000.
If you're interested in supplementing your income with some good "tip" money...
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor's Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
To be eligible for the cash rewards, tipsters MUST provide information to authorities using one of the three following methods:
All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted – and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name.
DPS officials are still searching for another sex offender on their most wanted list: 37-year-old Jorge Luis Santamaria. He was convicted in 2005 of attempting to have sexual contact with an 11-year-old boy, and has been wanted since October of 2012, when he left from his last known address in Electra, Texas. Police say he has ties to Elgin, Austin, and Mexico.
Santamaria stands 5'6" and weighs around 230 pounds.
If you have any information that might help bring this guy in, submit a tip to Crime Stoppers. You can do the right thing and make some extra cash.
