If you're itchin' to play some BINGO and contribute to good causes, you're in luck. American Legion Post 133 in Temple is bringing BINGO back beginning Wednesday, July 1.

These games are open to the public, so bring your dobbers and good luck charms. The doors will open at 5 PM Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The cost to play is $5 for a small pack of cards and $10 for a large pack.

If you've never been or need a reminder, American Legion Post 133 is located at 1300 S 25th St. That's just three blocks east of the intersection of South 31st Street and Avenue M.

Social distancing is encouraged when you go to play, and while masks are optional, I highly recommend wearing one if you can safely do so. It's a courteous way to look out for the health of the folks around you and help slow the spread of COVID-19.

What's great about BINGO at the American Legion is that while you're having fun, you're also supporting awesome causes.

"Proceeds benefit American Legion Post 133, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 133, and Bell County Children's Rehabilitation Center," Alicia McQueen wrote me in an email Thursday morning. "The Legion and the Auxiliary use the proceeds to provide programs and assistance for veterans, their families, and the community, such as the Bell County Toy Run, Bell County Youth Fair, Ralph Wilson Youth Club, Ronald McDonald House, Volunteer Fire Departments in Bell County, Blue Santa, and many more."

BINGO is a fantastic way to socialize and win a prize, and it's good to know your money is going toward noble causes.
