CenTex Man Arrested for Using $250,000 Forged Cashier’s Check

A man has probably had a change of heart on Wednesday after being arrested for trying to push the limits of life just a tad too much.

KWTX's Christopher Shadrock reported that the man was arrested for attempting to use a forged cashier's check for over $250,000 to buy real estate, and was brought into custody on Wednesday for a charge of forgery.

Online jail records reveal that Mika Dajour Hearne, 29, of Bremond was being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

The arrest affidavit said Hearne gave the forged check to a local realtor to purchase a home in Harker Heights. The amount of the check given to the realtor was $262,523.45.

The realtor had suspicions that the check was a fake, and an official with First National Bank confirmed that the check wasn't authentic. Hearne eventually owned up to the authorities that the check was a forgery.
