Congrats are in order for Chance the Rapper. The Chicago native is officially a dad. He and his girlfriend welcomed their baby daughter into the world.

On Monday (Sept. 21), the Acid Rap creator shared a photo of a hospital wristband that read “Parent” on Instagram. Chance wouldn't reveal the weight of the baby or the date of birth, but he did pen a heartfelt note to explain how the birth of his first child has impacted his life. He wrote:

I got to take my child home. Thank God, her mother, our families, the medical staff at Women's Prentice and an amazing organization called The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago. I love this time in my life, and I've learned to love better because of it. I wanted make a grandiose and poetic statement with her weight and size and DOB to show how much this means to me, but I think it'd be more appropriate and fatherly of me to just say thanks to those who helped us during this pregnancy, and ask for a little privacy in this time for me and my new family to get settled."

Chance joins fellow rappers Macklemore and Fabolous (for a second time) who welcomed babies into the world in 2015.

The 22-year-old rhymer will have some time to enjoy fatherhood before he heads out on tour in October. Chance and his band, the Social Experiment, are kicking off their Family Matters tour on Oct. 11 in Austin, Texas. To peep his full itinerary and cop tickets, head over to ChanceRaps.com.
