Drake's love for the University of Kentucky basketball team is well documented. Last night (Oct. 13), Drizzy was on campus once again for the hoop team's annual Big Blue Madness event and offered something special for the student body.

The annual event, which unofficially kicks off the team's season, took place at UK's Rupp Arena. A packed crowd filled the gym to see their new team and Drake in the flesh. The OVO rapper received high praise from Coach Calipari. “If you want to emulate excellence and maintain humility (and) loyalty, emulate Drake,” Calipari said. “If you want to emulate strong drive, embracing the biggest stage and the goodness of the compassionate heart, you emulate Drake.”

Later Aubrey addressed the crowd, speaking on his fondness for the school and squad. “I think it was 2009 when Coach first brought me out here, and it was one of the best experiences of my life,” Drake said. “This family right here — you’re a special, special group. Make some noise for your team this year.”

He added, “I told Coach that I wanted to come back, and he made it possible for me to be here, so I appreciate you accepting me again, one more time. You know, people ask me, ‘There are so many madnesses going on and so many different events, why don’t you go anywhere else?’ And I tell them, ‘I’m a Wildcat through and through. And there’s only one Big Blue.’”

Drake then told the fans that he has plans to put on a free show for everyone at the school, before the end of the school year. “That’s all I ask,” he added as the crowd went nuts. “Big Blue Nation, I love you. Make some noise for your team and make some noise for Coach Cal!”

Drake has been in the studio working on the follow up to his platinum album, More Life.
