The website of the Armed Forces Natural Hair & Health Expo says (AFNHHE) is a 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to supporting the growth and awareness of natural hair and optimal health. They cater to military, government officials, their families, and civilians living in the vicinity of military installations. Their mission is to educate, inform, and support everyone who has natural (coily, kinky, wavy or curly) hair as well as those transitioning to their natural hair or is interested in learning about natural hair care and healthy living.
