Flaming Semi Shuts Down Southbound I-35 Near Troy

Southbound Interstate 35 traffic between Troy and Bruceville-Eddy was at a standstill Tuesday afternoon due to a truck fire.

TxDOT's Jodi Wheatley issued an alert shortly before Noon warning that a semi fire just north of Big Elm Road was stalling traffic for several miles. Wheatley said emergency officials were en route, and could not give an estimate concerning when the scene would be cleared.

Access roads remained open, but Wheatley was advising drivers to seek alternative routes.
