Gatesville Marijuana Bust Nets Two Arrests
Two Coryell County residents were arrested Monday after authorities served warrants at two homes the Gatesville area and seized marijuana and cash.
John Carroll with our news partner, KWTX, reports that the Coryell County Sherrif's Office and the Heart of Texas Auto Task Force served warrants at 1620 West Main Street in Gatesville and 702 Franks Road just west of Gatesville.
21-year-old Joseph Ryan Johnson was charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana, over a quarter once but less than five pounds, in a drug-free zone. Online jail records indicated he was still in the Coryell County Jail Tuesday afternoon. No bond was indicated.
19-year-old Cursti Gayle Turner-Cope was charged with manufacture or delivery of marijuana less than fifty pounds, but more than five pounds. Jail records indicate she was no longer in the Coryell County Jail Tuesday afternoon.
According to KWTX, authorities seized 9.34 pounds of what is believed to be packaged marijuana, .875 pounds of marijuana/THC concentrate, and an unspecified amount of cash. They believe the materials were purchased in Colorado.
