Gig ‘Em A Beer – Texas A&M Says Yes to Beer, Wine Sales at Kyle Field

It's no Aggie joke. Texas A&M has OK'd the sale of beer and wine to all fans over 21 at Kyle Field.

Gigem247 Sports reports that the Aggies are taking the SEC up on their open policy on alcohol sales at home games, meaning you won't have to fork over the big bucks for Tailgate Tower seating to enjoy an adult beverage at games.

The new policy was approved during a spring meeting of the SEC's 14 presidents and athletics directors back in May. Their decision came after they observed how Big Ten schools did after legalizing general alcohol sales a few years ago. Their main concerns were, of course, safety and properly identifying the 21 and up crowd.

The new policy goes into effect August 1, but not all SEC schools are lifting their booze bans. The powers that be left that decision up to individual schools, and there are some holdouts in Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and Mississippi State.
