Here's What We Know
Also known as Gregory Wedel (taking his wife's last name in marriage), Morales was seen on Aug. 19, 2020 driving his vehicle off post in Killeen. He last spoke with his wife the next day on August 20th. After receiving a tip with the location of his body, authorities discovered his skeletal remains in a field on Florence Road in Killeen back in June 2020. This was two weeks into the search for SPC Vanessa Guillen. I'm sure we have all heard of her case in some form or fashion.
With Honor
The 23-year-old private was a part of the 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade. He was a Motor Transport Operator and was scheduled to discharge from the army just days before he disappeared. He did get buried with full military honors at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Who Is Responsible?
The Army CID suspects foul play is involved here. That's why they're asking anyone with information to please come forward and help bring his family peace.
How You Can Help
Anyone with info about Gregory's disappearance or death is urged to please contact the Army CID Special Agents at 254-287-2722, or send an anonymous tip through the CID online tip-line. *The payout of cash rewards to military and federal employees for information leading to the conviction of person(s) involved, is content upon the accuracy and value of the information provided, and the actions taken based upon the information.
In a 2020 interview, Morales's mother, Kim Wedel, said, “Frustrated is not even the right word. I don’t know what the word is that.. it’s just.. hurtful,” No new information has been released.
