How to Schedule a COVID-19 Test in Troy or Rogers
Last week, Bell County Judge David Blackburn announced that COVID-19 testing sites would be set up in Troy and Rogers. Today, officials released flyers with information on symptoms to watch for and ways to schedule a testing appointment.
According to the flyers, both test collection sites will begin operating on Friday, May 8, and will be open from 8 AM to 5 PM. Bell County officials say this station wlil be open for one day only. The testing centers will be set up at the Troy Volunteer Fire Department, 201 E Main St. in Troy, and the Rogers Volunteer Fire Department, 4 W Mesquite Ave. in Rogers.
Testing will be conducted by appointment only. To get registered, you can call (512) 883-2400 or visit txcovidtest.org. When you visit, please wear a mask or face covering if possible and be sure to continue to practice social distancing and proper hygiene/hand cleaning.
These are the symptoms to be on the lookout for if you believe you or a family member should be tested:
- Fever and/or Chills
- Cough (Dry or Productive)
- Fatigue
- Body Aches
- Muscle or Joint Pain
- Shortness of Breath
- Sore Throat
- Headache
- Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea
- Nasal Congestion
- Loss of Taste and/or Smell
Note: The CDC advises you seek medical attention if you experience:
- Trouble Breathing
- Persistent Pain or Pressure in the Chest
- New Confusion or Inability to Arouse
- Bluish Lips or Face
If you experience these more severe symptoms and need to call 9-1-1 or visit an emergency room, let the operator or staff know that you think you may have COVID-19 if you can, and wear a mask or face covering if at all possible.
