The countdown clock has struck zero and its officially time to go "back to school" shopping! The Texas Sales Tax Holiday also known as "Tax Free Weekend" is in full effect.

From now through Midnight Sunday August 11th, you can buy most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks (sold for less than $100) tax free from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller doing business in Texas according to The Texas Comptroller's Office.

The sales tax exemption applies only to qualifying items you buy during the sales tax holiday. Items you buy before or after the sales tax holiday do not qualify for exemption, and there is no tax refund available. - Texas Comptroller Office

So what exact Items qualify? Well here's a list of those items according to The Texas Comptroller. Just click on each to see what's on the list:

Now that you know what you can buy and since you're going to be saving some money, you can help out kids that may not be as fortunate by picking up some extra supplies and helping us "Stuff The Bus".

If you can, pick up a few extra items then head over to one of our many drop off locations which you can find RIGHT HERE or at the button below to help us give school supplies to families in need in Temple, Belton and Killeen.
