Kerry Washington Welcomes Baby Girl

Congratulations to Kerry Washington and her husband, Nnamdi Asomugha, who welcomed daughter Isabelle Amarachi into the world last week.

The actress announced her pregnancy in the fall and has since been sporting some of the trendiest and coolest maternity clothes we’ve ever seen in Hollywood. Let’s not forget her stunning lavender Jason Wu gown at the Oscars, or her head-turning beaded crop top with a high-waisted skirt at the SAG Awards. She embraced rather than tried to hide her baby bump — who wouldn’t admire that?

A bare midriff is as much as Washington was willing to expose about her pregnancy, though, declining to answer any personal questions on how she was handling the road to motherhood.

“I’m not talking about it that much,” the ‘Scandal’ star told E! News in January, “but I feel really, really blessed. It just feels like a really good time.”

The good time came to a point on April 21 when Washington gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Isabelle is the first child for the ‘Scandal’ star and her husband, a former cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers. The couple married in a private wedding last summer.

A source reported to PEOPLE that “Kerry is at home busy with the baby.”
