When it comes to living a happy life in Killeen, Texas, there’re only three things I ask someone not to mess with:

Please don’t mess with my family.

Please don’t mess with my money.

And last but definitely not least, please don’t mess with my food!

I know this might sound crazy, but the first two you might be able to get away with versus trying to disturb me while I’m eating. There used to be a time we would order meals online, and you would receive them at a prompt time and with some companies, would even receive a photo so you knew that your food had arrived.

Where's the Beef?

We now live in a world in which asking for delivery instead of carry-out my be an entire liability.

I’ve noticed recently in Killeen that a lot of residents who have ordered food on online apps have not received their meals, and many times the delivers can’t show proof of it. Now, I’m not saying delivers are deciding to keep the orders, but I am saying that the customers NEVER gets to see their orders. I spoke to a resident by the name of Tanisha Davis who has had enough of the frustration with dealing with ordering online food service.

What's Done Is Done

Tanisha had ordered a meal for her mother who is disabled, and the meal was never delivered.

Even though she was told that the meal should have been received, there was no proof or photo that anyone had even been to her mother's house.

This comes off very frustrating and also very dangerous. What if you're ordering for a disabled loved one because you can't cook for them that night, and they just don't get to eat because it never arrives?

Food not being delivered as promised is becoming more frequent and, quite frankly, annoying. I asked that if you are ordering food, please be careful. I am happy to report that even though the company Tanisha ordered her food from had to send out another meal, she was credited. In my opinion, it doesn’t make it necessarily okay, but I can appreciate the company taking responsibility and trying to make it right.

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
