Killeen ISD Offers Free Physicals For Student Athletes
Attention all students headed for seventh, ninth, and 11th grade, Killeen ISD has got a chance for students to take advantage of free physicals this Friday.
Killeen ISD put the word out that incoming students in the seventh, ninth, and eleventh grades who will take part in student-athletics can get a free physical exam on May 17th at the Baylor Scott and White Clinic at 3801 Scott and White Drive in Killeen.
900+ students are expected to take advantage of the opportunity to get a required physical exam for free beginning on Friday at 5 pm. The University Interscholastic League requires student-athletes to fill out a medical questionnaire and to have an accompanying required physical by a medical doctor before their seventh, ninth, and eleventh-grade years of school.
The doctors will come from surrounding clinics to offer the exams. Students should wear shorts, a t-shirt, and tennis shoes. All forms will need to be signed by the student's parents prior to the physical. So if your child wants to take advantage of the offer, make sure you get the paperwork completed before sending them off on Friday for the exam.
Killeen ISD's Executive Director for Athletics told the Killeen Daily Herald, “This is a wonderful service provided by Baylor, Scott & White and we deeply appreciate the doctors for working with us to make sure our athletes are healthy and safe. We ask that all athletes participate in this opportunity to get free physicals.”
