In my opinion, there’s nothing better than a big, fat juicy burger with all the fixings. The burger is the American way. Mexico gifted us yummy tacos, and Italians gave us the pizza, but the good ol' USA is known for the burger! Killeen, Texas loves a good burger, and when I asked the good people of Central Texas who has some of the best in K-town, this is what you told me.

Galaxy Burger in Killeen Was (Not Surprisingly) A Popular Choice

Let’s start with a Star Wars-themed burger joint that is an all-around fun and (most importantly) delicious fixture in Killeen.
Galaxy Burger has some of the most creative burgers I have ever seen in my life, and each burger has something of a Star Wars, sci-fi, or rock type theme. For example, The Galactica Madness, which is two patties, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and mayo served between two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of a bun.
I have never seen a grilled cheese sandwich that was converted into a cheeseburger, but I guess that’s why Galaxy Burger is called Galaxy Burger - the menu is out of this world!
Don’t forget to try the fried pickles too. That’s one of my favorites and definitely one of the best in the city! My mouth just drools thinking about this establishment.

Billy Bob's Burgers in Killeen Keeps It Old School (And Delicious)

You can’t go wrong with the old fashion burger: a little bit of lettuce, pickle, onion, tomato, and American cheese makes for an easy but delicious all American sandwich.
But Billy Bob’s doesn’t just make the classics, they reinvent them and put their unique stamp on them. They've been doing it for years, too. I attended Killeen High School, and I remember when Billy Bob’s was located behind the Killeen Cemetery. That was our go-to spot for a burger and fries.
Billy Bob’s keeps it really simple and classic, and you know you can never go wrong with authentic food like that. The Swiss mushroom burger was always my favorite growing up, but when I had a little bit of courage I would request the Fat Daddy.
The Fat Daddy burger consists of six patties, five slices of American cheese, and a whole lot of flavor. Long story short, I’m a wimp, and I never was able to finish it!
Billy Bob’s will always have a special place in my heart for all the memories that it gave me, and it definitely has a special place in my belly with all the delicious food I ate.

Simply Good Burgers in Killeen Is Simply One of the Best

Last but not least is a burger spot that truly lives up to its name: Simply Good Burgers.
When I first heard about Simply Good Burgers, they were a food truck. Now they have also opened a brick-and-mortar to give more people an opportunity to enjoy their food.
When I was asking the city of Killeen about the best burger joints, I was told if Simply Good Burgers were not included, I shouldn't even write the article. I was also told the Boss Hog burger is what you should request when going to Simply Good Burgers. The Boss Hogg consists of, double meat, American cheese, loads of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and Simply Good Burgers' signature bacon ranch sauce.
The people at Simply Good Burgers understand the assignment: make the burger, make it to simply good, and people will enjoy!

14 Texas Eats We Can't Live Without

Top 20 Restaurants Central Texans Wish Would Come to Temple

A while back, I asked the good people of Temple if they could picture a good restaurant to fill the lot on North General Bruce Drive where the soon to be torn down Long John Silver's stood.

This was before it was announced that a Dutch Bros. Coffee location would open there (which was one of the places I predicted as a contender in our article).

So now Dutch Bros. is open in that spot, but the responses to my survey were interesting because they paint a picture of just how diverse Temple's population is. People recommended some familiar restaurants with locations in the surrounding area, but also a few I'd never even heard of.

Here are the top 20 results of the survey. Let's see what the good people of Temple are craving!
