Killeen, Texas Police Arrest Suspect Six Months after Fatal Cemetery Shooting
A suspect has been arrested and charged in a shocking death at a Killeen, Texas cemetery.
It's taken six months to get to this point, but Christian Lamar Weston, 17, has been arrested and charged with murder in the March 2022 killing of Yolanda N’Gaojia.
Cemetery Shooting
Police were alerted of the shooting on Tuesday, March 22 2022 just after 5 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church Garden of Memories Cemetery off State Highway 195. Upon arrival it turned out that there were multiple victims. One person, who remains unidentified, was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released at the scene, and another woman, Yolanda N'Gaoji, would succumb to her injuries later that day.
Kineh N’Gaojia said his ex-wife was there to visit their son's gravesite on what would have been his 22nd birthday when she was struck by gunfire. Amir Tajai-Kineh N'Gaojia died on New Year’s Day 2022.
Weston Held on No Bond
According to KWTX, Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson arraigned Weston and ordered him to be held with no Bond.
According to Killeen PD spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez, “Weston was also arraigned on an unrelated Unlicensed Carrying of a Weapon where that bond was set at $5,000.”
As of Monday, August, 15, there was no reported motive in the shooting, nor was there any info on if Weston had entered a plea to the charges.
