The Teen Choice Awards ceremony isn't typically known for its poignant moments, but on Sunday night, Aug. 11, Lea Michele brought the house (and a lot of viewers) to tears when she dedicated her surfboard to the late Cory Monteith.

Honored as Choice TV Comedy Actress for her work on 'Glee,' the actress and singer took the stage and bravely smiled through her tears as she thanked everyone for being so supportive in the wake of her co-star and boyfriend's untimely death from an accidental drug overdose on July 13.

"I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out there how much all of your love and support has meant to me over these past difficult few weeks. Not that I had any doubt before, but you guys are most certainly the greatest fans in the world," she began. "I promise that with your love, we're going to get through this together."

"[Cory] was very special to me and also to the world and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent, his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or just as Finn Hudson, Cory reached out and he became a part of all of our hearts, and that's where he'll stay forever."

Michele wasn't the only one to name-check Monteith during Sunday night's festivities -- when 'Glee' won Choice TV Show Comedy, co-stars Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz mentioned him too, with Ushkowitz saying, “We know Cory would have wanted to dedicate this to you as well, so thank you guys.”
