Lil Wayne was supposed to rock the mic at the 2018 Rolling Loud Festival in Miami on Sunday (May 13), but for some reason, he didn’t show up.

According to Pitchfork, Wayne’s cancellation was announced to the crowd just minutes before he was to hit the stage. However, festival reps have now issued a statement explaining Weezy’s absence. It partially reads:

Lil Wayne fell unexpectedly ill ahead of his set time and had to cancel his appearance at Rolling Loud Miami. We apologize to the fans for this incident, and given our longstanding and healthy partnership with Lil Wayne and his team, look forward to continuing to work with him and having him on a Rolling Loud stage in the near future.

Wayne wasn't the only big name act that didn't show up at Rolling Loud. Gucci Mane was scheduled to perform but was unable to do so because he was sick. The Atlanta rapper was replaced by Miami's own DJ Khaled.

In addition, Kevin Gates and YoungBoy Never Broke Again couldn't make it to their gigs because of their legal situations, which prohibits them from traveling. Gates is currently on parole after serving nine months for felony gun possession and YoungBoy was recently indicted for assault.

Wayne did apologize to his fans via a tweet on Twitter, which you can read below. Last year, Wayne suffered multiple seizures, which prevented him performing in Las Vegas.

Hopefully, Lil Wayne will come through and perform at his 4th annual Lil Weezyana Festival, which will mark its 10th anniversary this year. The event will take place in his hometown of New Orleans on Aug. 25. Weezy plans to perform Tha Carter III in its entirety.
