A Belton man was indicted Wednesday on a charge of online solicitation of a minor

Paul J. Gately with KWTX reports that 49-year-old Robert Lee Soll's arrest was the result of a sting conducted by the Department of Public Safety. According to police, Soll contacted an undercover Woodway detective in order to set up a meeting for sex with a 16-year-old girl.

According to the Temple Daily Telegram, Soll reportedly sent several graphic videos and photos, and described acts he wanted to perform on someone he acknowledged would be below the legal age of consent. Police say he asked that his activities be kept secret so that he would not face prison.

The detective, posting as a teen girl, arranged to meet Soll at the Starbucks cafe in Belton. Soll arrived at the cafe on August 9 and appeared to be looking for someone. Police approached and asked him to identify himself, and Soll reportedly agreed to speak with the officers.

Soll was arrested on August 10 and released the next day on $100,000 bail.
