If you're a fan of Mahershala Ali, you may be asking yourself at this point, what can't he do? The Academy Award-winning actor discussed some of his upcoming work at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival yesterday (Sept. 12) and was asked by host Amanda Parris to "drop some bars." He certainly didn't disappoint.

Ali quickly shared some bars off the top, though he did seem pretty nervous. "Oh Lord," he said, as the crowd let out some laughs. "Time moves with slugs and the geriatric rat race causing checkbook contortions/Pregnant with ambition on the second abortion/Seeds from the swamps gotta settle for quicksand/Fighting this condition is known to cause drowning/I hold my breath, inhale with every bit of life I have left," he spits.

You may recall that this isn't the first time Ali has copped to his rapping chops. Back in 2017, he revealed to XXL that he used to spit under the rap moniker of Prince Ali.

"Hip-hop has definitely had a strong, perhaps the strongest influence on my life," the Oakland native said at the time. "I don’t think I’m at all unique with that. I think there’s so many people of color, and even White kids, that have been tolerating the stresses of their own problems and what not and were able to navigate so many things through the culture of hip-hop and create jobs, have opportunities and been able to express themselves and finding their identity in. I think that’s true with so many people, definitely with me."

He also previously discussed some of his favorite rappers, who include Roc Marciano, Ka, EarthGang and Mick Jenkins. We'd assume that Jay-Z is one of them as well, as Ali starred in Jay's video for "Adnis" alongside Danny Glover.
