Texas Hill Country.com is reporting the the nation is coming to Texas, and their bringing their tacos.

Yep, the National Taco Championship will be happening March 30,at the Austin American-Statesman parking lot. But it's not just Tacos under the spotlight. No sir! In addition you can take in the tequila expo, the Ay Chihuahua! Beauty Pageant, Lucha Libre Wrestling, a Hot Chili Pepper Contest, (I imagine that's the actual food item and not the band) and a Day of the Dead Wedding!

Of course it's Austin so there'll be plenty of local bands, DJs, and homeless kids with lice. Talk about weird.

As for the actual Taco Championship, it seems that there are 35 competitors in the running for the top prize. Thank God this is one of those contest where people are allowed to eat the food. Pony up $3 bucks and gorge away at an array of tacos. You might recognize some of the contestants which includes Torchy’s Tacos, Eldorado Café, Be More Pacific, Gabriela’s, Holy Taco!, and House of the Rising Tanuki-san.

Again, that's March 30th from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. in the Austin American-Statesman parking lot. Bring your appetites, and maybe some mace to the keep the homeless kids with lice away from you. Just saying.
