New COVID-19 Program Launches For Texas Restaurants
As we continue on through the pandemic of COVID-19, the Texas Restaurant Association has engineered a new program to give guests more peace of mind.
According to a press release from the Texas Restaurant Association, the Texas Restaurant Promise Certification Program will award restaurants that are following the additional protocols put in place by Governor Abott due to the spread of the coronavirus.
The TRA states that restaurant training will cover 5 courses on the following 5 key roles:
- Take-out/Delivery staff
- Kitchen staff
- Cleaning crew
At least 5 employees must complete and pass the TRA training, and the restaurant must also pass an on-site evaluation which will executed by A Closer Look, a mystery shopping and customer experience company.
“This comprehensive program allows restaurant owners and their staff to demonstrate to the public that they have done everything possible to safely receive guests in their dining rooms,” said Dr. Emily Williams Knight, President and CEO of the Texas Restaurant Association. “I am proud that TRA can provide a training program to ensure employees are aware, trained, and certified in what is expected and required to safely operate today."
Once a restaurant passes the program, the business will be awarded a Texas Restaurant Promise Certified and Verified decal. The first class will start on June 25. More information can be found at TXRestaurant.org/TXRestaurantPromiseCertification.
