If you or someone you may know is a veteran, I have some good news for you!

It's been a long time coming, but KXXV-TV reports that a  a new veteran facility is in the works in Manvel, just south of Houston.

The Bailey House will initially serve as a 30-bedroom home offering day stay, but could become a temporary housing facility for veterans and their families in times of need as well. They also plan to offer counseling and legal help.

The Bailey House is still working to achieve non-profit status, but in the meantime they ask for prayers and likes on Facebook.

As reported  by the Houston Chronicle, the Bailey House is an unfinished mansion that was on the housing market for years before being donated by real estate investor Jim Youngblood. The house is named after George Bailey, the main character in 1947's It's A Wonderful Life.
