Officials Recover One of the two Missing Bodies from Lake Belton Canoe Capsizing
News 10 is reporting that officials recovered the body of one of two missing fishermen in Lake Belton on Tuesday
The two men went missing Monday night when their canoe capsized on lake Belton during a fishing trip.
"Three people were on a fishing trip in two canoes, when one of the canoes capsized, the other canoe turned around to try to help and also capsized," said Texas Parks and Wildlife spokesman Steve Lightfoot.
One man was able to swim safely to shore.
One of the missing men is a soldier at Fort Hood.
"Fort Hood officials are aware of this unfortunate incident. Fort Hood emergency officials are providing support as requested by the Texas Parks and Wildlife," said the brief statement released by Fort Hood.
Officials will continue the search for the other missing man this morning.
Officials also said that the body of one of the missing men did not appear to have a life jacket.
