Rapper That Quavo Criticized on Rhythm + Flow Drops Diss Track

Quavo has some new rap beef on his hands.

A former contestant on the Netflix rap competition show Rhythm + Flow released a diss track toward the Migos rapper on Friday (Oct. 11), following Quavo's appearance on the show. The 22-year-old, who goes by The Lyrical Gift, was apparently offended at Quavo's criticisms of his performance and took aim at him through some bars.

"Second chances are a given, and opinions I respect/But talkin’ down on my name is just something I can’t accept," The Lyrical Gift raps on "Time’s Up Quavious." "Straight disrespect/I’m lyrical, I’m gifted, I’m blessed!"

The Lyrical Gift's appearance came during the show's auditions in Atlanta, where Big Boi also joined Quavo to critique the contestants alongside the show's judges Cardi B, Chance The Rapper and T.I. When Tip asked The Lyrical Gift how he got his name, he said he "got the gift part because I know everything I’ve got is a gift from God.” Quavo's response to that was what sparked the diss track.

“You got, like, a gift but maybe it may not be, like...rap,” Quavo said.

The Lyrical Gift also mocked Quavo in the description of the song on SoundCloud, writing, “yOu GoT A giFT, bUt maYbE iT’s nOT rAP.”

In related news, Quavo recently hit the studio with his fellow Migos members Offset and Takeoff to record a track with Meek Mill. Though the song appears to be Meek's, Migos are also working on Culture III, which is set to hit in 2020.
