Authorities in Falls County say evidence points to a Rosebud-Lott ISD nurse having carried on an improper relationship with a student.

Rissa Shaw with our partners at News 10 reports that Erin Lewie turned herself in at the Falls County Jail around 1:30 PM Wednesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.

Sydney Isenberg with News Channel 25 reports that Rosebud-Lott ISD officials were made aware of the situation Sunday, December 6, and that Lewie was placed on paid suspension pending an investigation by Falls County Constable Jerry Loden.

According to Superintendent James Rosebrock, Lewie worked at the district's secondary campus for grades 7-12.

Further details weren't immediately available Wednesday afternoon. Authorities did not disclose the student's name or age.

Regardless of who the student was, stories like this are always disturbing. A school nurse is trusted with the health and safety of the children under her care. If the evidence proves that an improper relationship took place, that relationship is a betrayal of that trust, not to mention an example of predatory behavior.

I've never worked at a school, but here's my advice: If you can't control yourself around children, get help and pursue another career.
